The Ask

MXD is ready to drink cocktail brand owned by Mark Anthony they already have a wide range of cocktails in the US. For this project they wanted to expand their offering to the Canadian market focusing on nostalgic flavours.

Our task for this project was to reinvent an already used character (the Chihuahua) in their existing line into a retro styled version embodying sour cherry sweets.

My Role

I was heavily involved in this project start to finish. Firstly we looked at reinventing the character to move him from the visual world of the margarita cocktail to this red and black world of the sour cherry. We worked with an illustrator to do this, while also updating the can into this new visual world.

Once the visual elements of the character and the can had been decided on, we then moved on to the key visual elements of the campaign: the tag line “flavour unleashed” and working with a 3-D renderer we developed the final assets to be used across all marketing outputs. i.e. the light rays, ice, splashes and Cherries.

I then created a suite of social media and tactical assets that the team could use to launch this new product into the Canadian market.
